How often should I get my oil changed?

We recommend changing your oil as per manufacturers service intervals or every twelve months which ever is sooner. You should check your oil level regularly. If you are unsure how to check your oil we will happily show you.

What does it mean if my "Engine Management" light comes on?

Engine management light illuminates when there is a problem with your engine system. Common causes are Blocked DPF, Oxygen sensor, Spark plugs, Catalytic converter, Mass airflow sensor. Your vehicle may go in to the limp mode which enables you to safely get to the garage.

How do I know when I need new brakes?

There are a few warning signs that your brakes need attention.
If your brakes are Squeaking or you feel vibration through the Brake Pedal or the Brake Warning Light comes on your dash, bring your car to the garage as soon as possible. This will reduce further damage to your braking system and save you on repair costs.
A Deep Grinding Metal Sound, is a sign of steel on steel where your brake pads have failed and you ae now causing damage to your discs and calipers. Have this repaired immediately as its unsafe to drive the vehicle and you are causing further damage to your vehicle and increasing the cost of repair.

What is the legal tyre thread depth?

Tread depth must not be less than the legal minimum limit of 1.6 mm. You should check your tyres regularly and keep them inflated as per manufacturer’s specifications for your vehicle. Always have punctures attended to quickly and check your spare tyre regularly.

How often should I change my cabin air filters?

Cabin Air Filters should be changed approx. every 48000 kilometers. You may need a new cabin air filter if you notice that the air coming through your vehicle’s interior vents is blowing with considerably less force and if it carries an unpleasant musty odor.

How do I know if my exhaust needs to be repaired?

Your car’s Engine management light will let you know if there is any possible issue within the exhaust system. There are several severe signs to look out for when your exhaust has a problems such as: Your car is excessively noisy, Decreased Power and Acceleration, Decreased Fuel Efficiency, Burning Smell From the Engine Bay etc.

When should I replace my car’s fuel filter?

Your car's fuel filter helps ensure the petrol or diesel entering your engine is clean. Replace your car's fuel filter approximately every 50,000 kilometers or as recommended in your vehicle's owner's manual.

What should I do if my engine starts to overheat?

This is a very serious problem and you should stop the car safely immediately. Turn off the engine and allow time for the engine to cool down. Check your coolant level and if low add coolant or call for assistance. Do not drive a car that is over heating as this will lead to further engine damage. When should you replace the timing belt?

It’s important to replace your timing belt at the mileage intervals your vehicle manufacturer recommends, Most cars need to have their timing belts changed every 100,000-150,000 kms or 6-10 years depending on the make of your vehicle. How often should I change my transmission fluid?

Most manufacturers recommend replacing transmission fluid every 50,000 to 100,000 kms depending on your vehicle make and model. Manual transmissions require more conventional gear oil. 
Automatic transmissions require automatic transmission fluid and tend to be on a different maintenance schedule.
